Advanced Problems in Statistics and Research Methods at University of Phoenix

The University of Phoenix offers this graduate class called Advanced Problems in Statistics and Research Methods (QNT 531). This class expands on the knowledge gained and competencies that were developed in class QNT 530. It will introduce additional research methods to help the student understand the fundamentals in the methods of statistics and research. The student will identify the benefits and details regarding statistical analysis and demonstrate a proficient knowledge of its importance. A strong emphasis on case study accented by data analysis will allow the graduate student to develop the evaluative abilities needed to make proper managerial decisions. The student will demonstrate this knowledge by proving their understanding of the analysis of variance. They will also perform exercises in regression. Non-parametric statistics will be utilized with time series and forecasting tools.

Topics and objectives for this course include understanding the concept of test of hypotheses. The student will perform proper analysis of variance and demonstrate the analysis of correlation and regression concepts. The class teaches the tools needed to properly establish a time series as well as models for forecasting. Non-parametric statistics will be a primary focus of this class with features in statistical methods for quality control being of strong importance.
