Astronomy at University of Phoenix

The University of Phoenix is offering the Astronomy (SCI 350) course. This course is an introduction to the multi-faceted field of astronomy. During this course, students will be exposed to both scientific theories and proven astronomical facts that will educate them about their universe. An overview of not only the universe, but specifically of the Earth itself and its solar system will be given. Major themes that have been important throughout history to the development of the science of astronomy will be discussed. By offering the ideals of the ancient and modern scientific worlds the students will form a strong knowledge scientific knowledge base within this field. Specific focus will be given to such topics as how the stars first formed and evolved and how they formed into galaxies% gravity, light and the solar system the relationship between the moon and Earth% as well as the history of astronomy and future areas of exploration.
