Six Reasons to Study Nursing Online

Today, getting an education in nursing online is – for all intents and purposes – virtually identical to getting an education in nursing at a brick-and-mortar school. You take the same courses, the same tests, and in the end (provided you've chosen an accredited school) you get the same piece of paper saying you can legally practice as a nurse. Some entry-level nursing careers require just a certificate, such as for a nursing assistant, which takes between 6-12 weeks of study. Take some courses while you're working in this field, and you can advance yourself to a variety of jobs: physical therapy assistant, or licensed practical nurse, (LPN), on up to registered nurse (RN) and above. It's completely in your control!

Nursing is noble:

There isn't a soul who would say that the profession of nursing is anything less than an act of selfless devotion to the care and well-being of other people. The term 'nurse' doesn't just describe a job – it describes who a person is. It becomes the person. To say, “I'm a nurse” is saying that you care about others.

Nursing is global:

The profession of nursing can quite literally take you anywhere in the world you want to go. Nursing is one of the most in-demand occupations, not just in the United States, but in Europe, Australia, and in countries with under-developed healthcare systems who desperately need caring nurses, such as Kenya, India and Brazil. Pack your bags – you're a nurse!
