Remington College is a private non-profit postsecondary institution that offers programs designed for non-traditional students who seek focused, hands-on career training to prepare them for entry-level positions in various fields such as business, health care, culinary arts, and information technology. Remington College offers more than 25 academic programs that result in diplomas, associate degrees, and bachelor degrees. Instructors with extensive real-life experience teach the courses and strive to accommodate busy adults with other obligations. All programs are rigorous and challenging to enable students to develop and improve their abilities. Students are able to complete their diploma program in as little as eight months and degree programs in just 18 months.

Remington College offers online programs at the associate and bachelor degree level that enable students to gain essential skills in a convenient and flexible format that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The goal of the online programs is to provide quality student-centered education and individualized service in a virtual format. Online programs include business administration, human resources, management, criminal justice, paralegal, and organizational management. Online coursework is designed to be challenging and meaningful and students are able to complete one course at a time with adequate breaks between courses. For students who are unsure if online learning is the right format, the college offers a complementary orientation session that enables students to become familiar with the online learning environment and available online resources. The orientation features an introduction and general instructions, navigation of the platform, policies and procedures, resources, success strategies, and getting help.

Online courses are delivered in the asynchronous format through Moodle online user platform. The courses feature an interactive curriculum with Flash-driven lectures that include written text, audio, video clips, and checks of knowledge. All courses are interactive and include weekly discussions, quizzes, and live synchronous meetings with the instructor. The online platform enables students to easily access course syllabi, assignment information and due dates, links to course lectures, links to support services and computer requirements, and a school calendar. Students are also able to access a student portal that provides information and tutorials on policies and procedures. Online students are given the opportunity to choose between paper-based textbooks or e-books. Students also have access to learning resources such as the InfoTrac database that consists of more than 75 million articles and the eBrary source that enables students to create a personal bookshelf and add research sources and tools.

In its commitment to helping students succeed, Remington College offers various services to students such as individual advising, career services, and job placement assistance. The Career Services Department offers one-on-one assistance with creating resumes and interviewing methods as well as career fairs.

Remington College traces its history back to the 1940s when some of its affiliated institutions were established. The institution was officially founded in 1985 under the operation of Education America, Inc. The college began offering online programs in 2009. Today, Remington College serves more than 8,700 students through its 20 campuses and online.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) accredits Remington College.

Financing Options

Remington College offers an all-inclusive tuition that includes all course fees, books, supplies, equipment, parking fees, cap and gown, and post-graduate placement assistance. Tuition does not increase as long as students are continuously enrolled according to specific guidelines for individual programs. The college also participates in Title IV Federal Financial Aid Programs including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Direct Stafford Subsidized Loan, Federal Direct Stafford Unsubsidized Loan, Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG), Federal Work Study, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant. It also accepts private alternative loans and other private financing programs. The Student Financial Aid Department provides additional assistance to students.

Credit Earning Options

Remington College grants transfer credits for previous postsecondary coursework completed at another accredited college or university. Credits are granted on an individual basis and all courses must have a grade of at least a C. Students seeking transfer credit must submit official transcripts and other supporting information from all previous institutions of higher learning.
