Ashworth College is a private for-profit distance education institution of higher learning that is based in Norcross, Georgia. It was founded in 1987 and recently combined three schools including Ashworth College, Professional Career Development Institute, and James Madison High School to act as one educational entity. Ashworth College is dedicated to providing high quality convenient instruction to enable students of all ages and backgrounds to gain specialized knowledge and abilities. Ashworth College offers over 100 online programs that are career-focused and enable students to develop real-world abilities that are highly valued by employers. It holds a weekly live online orientation for new students and individuals considering attending the school. Ashworth College offers an abundance of certificate, associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in a variety of areas such as accounting, business management, business administration, criminal justice, computer information management, security management, psychology, early childhood education, health care management, marketing, paralegal studies, and human resource management. It also offers career diploma programs in many different areas such as auto mechanics, locksmithing, bridal consulting, medical transcription, carpentry, landscape design, website design, home inspection, pharmacy technology, and teacher assisting. Additionally, Ashworth College offers an online high school where individuals can complete a certain class or a full high school diploma. It offers a general, vocational, and college prep diploma. For all programs students are able to study at their own pace through an online or correspondence study option. The online programs allow students to access all course content from the Internet and complete assignments and examinations. All textbooks and course materials are sent via mail. The correspondence option provides printed textbooks and course materials through mail and students can complete examinations by mail or online.

Ashworth College implements a FasTrack learning system to help students complete programs at a faster rate and enter the workforce. Students are able to complete a career diploma in as little as 24 weeks or a degree program in 12 months. Courses begin on a recurring basis to enable students to start at any time. Students are able to enroll quickly online or by phone and start taking courses any day out of the year. They can upload assignments and take online examinations when it is convenient for them and the courses do not include any timed content or group projects.

Ashworth College offers various types of student support such as tutors that are available through a FastFeedback personal callback service and student advisors that provide assistance via phone or email. The Student Services support team is available Monday through Friday from 9AM to 7PM Eastern Time to help students and answer questions. Ashworth College also provides career resources such as job postings, resume tips, and outlooks on certain industries. The Ashworth Forum is an online forum set up for students and instructors to meet and interact.

Accreditation

The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council accredits Ashworth College. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges regionally accredits James Madison High School.

Financing Options

Ashworth College is committed to offering affordable education and tuition includes all textbooks and learning materials. The college offers various payment options including a full payment, monthly payment plan, and automatic payment. Students are able to pay monthly by mail, phone, and online without interest or penalty. Students who sign up for the automatic bill pay using their credit care will save $25 on tuition. Ashworth College also participates in employer reimbursement and military education benefits such as GI/VA Education Benefits, DANTES, and Tuition Assistance.

Credit Earning Options

Ashworth College enables students to transfer up to 75 percent of the required credits for an associate or bachelor’s degree program and 25 percent of those credits can be from life and work experiences. All courses must have been completed with a grade of a C or better. For master’s degree programs students can transfer up to 18 semester hours of graduate-level courses and all graduate coursework must have been completed with a grade of a B or better. Students can also receive credit for high school diploma programs. Students are required to submit official transcripts and other supporting documents.
