The University of the Rockies Online is a private, for-profit graduate school that is a nationwide leader of graduate studies. Its goal is to offer superior professional graduate education in the social and behavioral sciences. The University of the Rockies Online offers accelerated, innovative, and esteemed online degree programs. The programs are flexible and active and enable students to fit their education into their busy schedules while maintaining employment and other obligations. The online programs teach students how to incorporate psychology applications and business and leadership aspects while acquiring a distinctive background to enhance employment opportunities. General online courses are typically six weeks in length and practicum and dissertation courses are nine weeks in length. Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced and possess doctoral degrees to serve as mentors to all students.

Online courses are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and are presented in an asynchronous format to enable students to login in anytime and anywhere with Internet access. Students are able to communicate with instructors and classmates, complete and post assignments, and comment on the works of others through the online learning platform. Even though the programs are flexible, students are required to log in to each individual online course a minimum of two separate times on a weekly basis. Students are able to complete their programs in approximately 18 to 20 months for master degree programs and about 36 months for doctoral degree programs.

The University of the Rockies Online offers graduate certificate, Master of Arts, Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in various areas including general psychology, business psychology, criminology and justice studies, organizational leadership, human services, educational leadership, sports and performance psychology, mental health administration, health and wellness psychology, non-profit management, executive coaching, mediation and conflict resolution, and organizational diversity.

The University of the Rockies Online offers student support through personal academic advisors who offer assistance and support throughout the duration of programs. The advisors answer questions and provide guidance. Students also have access to a Career Services center that offers self-directed resources and tools for searching for employment and setting up career goals. Students can also contact the department to receive career guidance and advice. The University of the Rockies Online also provides access to an online library through the online classroom or Student Portal. The library that includes various research resources such as online databases and the Rockies Writing Center.

The University of the Rockies was established in 1998 as the Colorado School of Professional Psychology as n institution to provide professional psychology graduate education. In 2007, Bridgepoint Education acquired the school and changed its name to the University of the Rockies.

Schools of Education

The School of Professional Psychology offers quality and personalized education that prepares students to practice in various psychology areas. It offers a Master of Arts in Psychology with five concentrations and a Doctor of Psychology in Sports and Performance Psychology.

School of Organizational Leadership offers excellent and accessible degree programs that enable students to develop the knowledge and competence to succeed in modern organizations. It offers a Master of Arts in Psychology and Doctor of Psychology in various areas and a Master of Arts in Human Services, Master of Arts in Organizational Development and Leadership, and Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Development and Leadership.

The University of the Rockies Online participates in various financial aid programs including Federal Direct Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans, Military Tuition Assistance, Veterans Educational Benefits, and employer reimbursement. It also grants the University of the Rockies Institutional Loan, Active Duty Military Grant and participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Moreover, the University of the Rockies accepts grants from various states.

Credit Earning Options

The University of the Rockies Online accepts transfer credits from other regionally accredited institutions. Students are able to transfer a maximum of 9 graduate-level semester hours into master degree programs, 12 graduate-level semester hours into doctoral degree programs. All courses must have received a grade of a B or better. The university also grants credits for non-traditional credit courses assessed by the American Council for Education (ACE). Courses are assessed on an individual basis. Students seeking transfer credits are required to submit official, military, and ACE transcripts.
