Regarding his success stories, Nick says, “What’s cool is they’re just doing what I showed them, and now they’re all making money online as well and what I do actually requires no experience and no ten years of doing some dead-end job to get a promotion from a boss. And a lot of these people have done it in a short time frame by simply copying what I did. You can travel, spoil your kids, do whatever you want once you learn this.”

The journey of Nick Tan started in a small town in Malaysia, where he was born. They moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada when he’s about four years old. As an immigrant in a highly developed nation, Nick had better opportunities to tackle, and the best thing is that he appreciated it. We can tell, Nick has the values and vision for a brighter future. He grew up humbled and hardworking, thanks to the continuous guide from his parents. We can’t exclude getting good grades and stuff like that.

Additionally, they implanted their son’s young mind that it could always be worse no matter what you’re going through. And Nick was living with that kind of mindset.

In his early adulthood, he was bound to enter law school, but he realized that stress wasn’t for him. Instead, he diverted his time and energy into running a painting business. It was a successful start, yet he wanted to do more. After four years, he decided to start his social media marketing agency by taking on the digital world.

Doing so, he achieved the six-figure level. He couldn’t ask for more and have fun traveling abroad. Along his way, he met young people who were precisely like him years ago—having financial crises and struggling to get regular jobs. He wanted to teach those people and help in his way, and he did. The most important thing that he emphasizes is to have a good mindset.

“You have to pick one internet business and hyper focus on that and that alone. Otherwise you’re just gonna spin your wheels. Two, even within that one business, you can’t be all things to all people. Don’t build an agency and offer web design, copywriting, SEO, ad management, and everything else, and then take on any client who will pay you. If you do this, you’ll always be stuck in fulfillment mode. You can’t build processes and systems that productize your delivery. Not only that, your overheard will be higher. You’ll need more tools, software, staff. Worse, client results suffer because you’re always working in uncharted waters.” Nick says.

He was indeed an all-rounder as he could do all those skills. Currently, he focuses on one or two niches at a time. That way, it’s scalable but still profitable such as Facebook ads offer. Nick teaches us the mindset and picking a good niche. It is also essential to know where you get in touch with business owners on platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
